Quality Assurance

A key process in the evolution of the European Higher Education Area (ESS) is quality assurance. Increasing inter-institutional collaboration, student mobility and teaching and research staff, and the comparability of diplomas, respectively, are just some of the issues addressed as lines of action in this concept.

At national level, the institution responsible for quality assurance is the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS), established in 2005.

Quality assurance works, according to the ESG (European Standards and Guidelines), in three directions: at agency level, externally through ARACIS and internally through university quality assurance structures.

At university level there is a Quality Assessment and Assurance Commission (CEAC) which also includes a student and, where appropriate, at faculty level there is also a quality assurance commission.
